Overview

Agile One is a humanoid platform developed by Agile Robots with a focus on high-precision force-controlled manipulation. It leverages the company’s expertise in compliant robotics for industrial environments.

Agile ONE stands 174 cm tall, weighs 69 kg, and has a payload capacity of 20 kg, according to Agile Robots. The robot has 71 degrees of freedom total — 21 per hand — and a top walking speed of 2.0 m/s. Agile Robots describes the hand design, which features force-torque sensors in every joint and tactile sensors in the fingertips, as the world’s most dexterous robotic hand. CEO Dr. Zhaopeng Chen attributed the hand architecture to his doctoral research. Battery runtime is listed by Agile Robots as up to eight hours.

The robot runs on AgileCore, Agile Robots’ AI software platform, which also connects the company’s cobot arms, mobile robots, and guided vehicles. The AI model is trained on what Agile Robots describes as one of Europe’s largest real-world industrial datasets, supplemented by simulation and teleoperation data. A layered AI architecture separates strategic task planning, rapid response, and fine motor control into distinct processing layers.

Agile Robots announced production would begin at a new Bavarian facility in early 2026. No pricing has been publicly disclosed. The company has not published independently verified deployment figures or task benchmarks. Agile Robots was founded in 2018 by researchers from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and acquired cobot arm maker Franka Emika in 2023.
