About

Astribot is a Shenzhen-based humanoid robotics company and subsidiary of Stardust Intelligence, founded in 2022 by Lai Jie. It develops AI-powered humanoid robots focused on full autonomy through whole-body imitation learning, enabling robots to learn tasks from human demonstrations without teleoperation.

  • Unveiled the Astribot S1 at the 2024 World Robot Conference — a 170 cm, 90 kg dual-arm humanoid with 23 degrees of freedom and a cable-driven architecture designed to mimic human musculature.
  • Launched the T1 humanoid in 2026, standing 155 cm tall and priced at approximately $13,000, targeting accessible deployment across household and industrial applications.
  • Raised approximately $100M across a Seed round (July 2024) and Series A (April 2025), with investors including Matrix Partners, Ant Group, Yunqi Partners, Dalton Venture, and Jinqiu Capital.
  • S1 imitation learning system described in a July 2025 arXiv paper ('Astribot Suite'), demonstrating full task autonomy without teleoperation across cooking, folding, and manipulation scenarios.

Software Ecosystem

AI / Model ApproachIn-house foundation models: Lumo-1 (reasoning) and DuoCore fast-slow system, both self-developed by Astribot and deployed in commercial settings as of 2025. According to Astribot, the system separates high-level planning (slow) from low-level motor control (fast).
Training MethodologyWhole-body imitation learning from human teleoperation demonstrations, without requiring teleoperation at inference time. Described in arXiv:2507.17141 (Astribot Suite). Also incorporates multimodal pre-training for semantic understanding.
Developer AccessT1 robot ships with developer-facing interfaces: rich APIs, swappable end-effectors, and compute backpack support. According to Astribot, the platform is designed for third-party developers and researchers to build applications on top of.
Third-Party IntegrationsNone publicly disclosed.
